Vincent Kartheiser Files for Divorce from Alexis Bledel After 8 Years of Marriage.

The Mad Men alum filed for divorce from the former Gilmore Girls star on Wednesday, PEOPLE has confirmed via Bledel’s rep and the New York’s Putnam County Court, where Kartheiser filed the petition on Aug. 10.

Kartheiser’s reps did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, and Bledel had no further comment at this time.

Bledel, 40, and Kartheiser, 43, met on the Mad Men set in 2012. Kartheiser played Pete Campbell, and Bledel appeared in season 5 as Campbell’s mistress Beth Dawes.

Shortly after Bledel appeared on the show in 2012, the couple were spotted kissing. They privately tied the knot in 2014.

Alexis Bledel will not return for “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 5, Variety has learned exclusively.

Bledel, who has played the key character of Emily/Ofglen on the Hulu drama since its first season debuted in 2017, said in a statement Friday: “After much thought, I felt I had to step away from ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ at this time. I am forever grateful to Bruce Miller for writing such truthful and resonant scenes for Emily, and to Hulu, MGM, the cast and crew for their support.”

During her four-year run on “The Handmaid’s Tale”, Bledel received four Emmy nominations and one win for her performance in the Bruce Miller-created TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s iconic novel.

Nominations for the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, highlighting acting work in film in television, were announced Wednesday.
The ceremony will be presented on February 27, 2022 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and it will be broadcast live on both TNT and TBS 8:00 p.m. EST / 5:00 p.m. PST.

Alexis Bledel just earned a fourth Emmy nomination for her turn as Emily Malek on Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which scooped up a total of 21 Emmy citations for its fourth season this year. Bledel competes in the Best Drama Guest Actress category, in which she took home her first victory, for “Handmaid’s’” debut installment in 2017. “To be singled out by the Television Academy means a lot because I’ve spent many years working in television,” the actor, who is also known for her starring role as Rory Gilmore on “Gilmore Girls,” says in response to her fourth career nom.
